Life Update and a Cute Cat Pic

Just wanted to make a quick post with some real life info, which is going to be keeping me quiet for a while.

Exciting news is, I’m getting married in ten days. As you can imagine, I’m pretty damn excited about that. My partner and I will be going to New Zealand for our honeymoon, which is also quite exciting. And yes, we will be going to Hobbiton.

Now, earlier this year when I was debating if I was going to be blogging much about this years Hugos, I didn’t really take into consideration how busy I was going to be with wedding stuff. So, I suppose the purpose of this post is just to say sorry, but there won’t be much content over the next month or so. That being said, the blog is not dead, and there are more goodies planned for later in the year. I recently finished a new horror short story, and work continues on my NaNo novel Aminidas from last year. Also, I’ve been drawing some of the wildlife from the World of Green and Black, which will start featuring on this blog soon.

A graphite pencil drawing of an alien insect. It has one body segment and an abdomen. It has four long legs, three antennae lined up along the 'spine' of its body, four fly-like wings, large jaws and dozens of spider-like eyes.

This current worldbuilding project – this building of the Black and Green ecosystems – will take a while. But I am looking forward to sharing all the artwork I’m making. And of course, more stories set in this world.

As said before though, I’m going to go a bit quiet before any of that happens. Rest assured though that I will return.

Until then, I don’t want the last thing I show you all to be a picture of a freaky alien bug. The other day I posted a really cute picture of my cat Knight on Mastodon and Bluesky, and it ended up being quite popular. So until next time, BEHOLD, Knight in his tower:

A very fluffy black and white cat with big yellow eyes is overflowing out of a circular nest on top of a cat tree/cat tower. He has rolled over so his back legs, tail, and head hang over the sides of the nest, while his front legs are raised up above his head.

I’ll see you all when I get back from my adventure. Happy reading everyone.
