Time for some exciting news everyone; I’m posting another World of Green and Black novella. And no, this isn’t an April Fools joke.

This story is set roughly 200 years before the previous novella, Neighbour, and follows the titular young Drid’s mentor, the Strongest Strategist of the Forest, as she makes first contact with Humans. I’ve always loved Strongest as a character, and I’m really excited to show what she was like earlier in her life, when she was new to her position and did not yet understand humanity the way she does in Neighbour.

Both novellas are standalones, though I think I do a better job of explaining how Drids work in Neighbour. I have however been posting articles on the wildlife of this world, and this piece about the Drids should fill in any gaps: Bestiary; Drid. Still, this novella was written to be read by itself, so don’t think you need to study alien biology to get it.

I am so excited to be sharing this story with the world. Like with the last novella, I will be uploading it in three parts, released in two week intervals. Part 1, Black World, Green World, is live now. Part 2, First Contact Once Again will drop on April 15th, whilst the conclusion, The Duel, will be released on April 29th.
